ShapeArena is a free online game where you draw geometric shapes freehand and compete for the highest accuracy score. Choose from seven shapes — circle, square, triangle, pentagon, hexagon, star, and diamond — draw them on the canvas, and our scoring engine analyzes your accuracy, speed, and smoothness in real time.

How ShapeArena Works
Pick a Nickname
Choose a nickname and an avatar to represent you on the leaderboards. No email or sign-up required — just pick a name and you are in.
Choose a Shape
Select one of seven geometric shapes to draw. Each shape has its own difficulty level and its own leaderboard.
Draw on the Canvas
Use your mouse or finger to draw the shape freehand. A ghost outline shows the target — your job is to trace it as accurately as possible.
Get Your Score
Our scoring engine evaluates your drawing on accuracy, smoothness, and speed. You get a composite score, a percentile ranking, and your position on the leaderboard.
Compete & Improve
Climb the daily, weekly, and monthly leaderboards. Earn XP, level up, build streaks, and share your best drawings with friends.
Seven Shapes to Master
ShapeArena features seven geometric shapes, each with unique drawing challenges and scoring criteria. From the smooth continuous curve of the circle to the complex alternating vertices of the star, every shape tests a different aspect of your drawing skill.
Scoring: Accuracy, Speed, and Smoothness
Every drawing you submit is analyzed by our scoring engine. The system measures three factors:
- Accuracy — how close your drawn points are to the ideal geometric shape. This is the most heavily weighted factor.
- Speed — faster drawings earn a time bonus, but not at the expense of accuracy. The algorithm adjusts for shape complexity.
- Smoothness — fluid, confident strokes score higher than jittery, hesitant lines. The system detects unnecessary micro-corrections.
These three factors combine into a composite score from 0 to 100. Your score determines your rank on the leaderboard and how much XP you earn.
Leaderboards and Competition
ShapeArena runs three leaderboard periods — daily, weekly, and monthly — each with separate rankings for all seven shapes. After every drawing, you see your rank, your percentile, and how close you are to the next player above you. Top-three players earn gold, silver, and bronze medals.
The leaderboards reset on a regular schedule, so everyone gets a fresh start. Daily leaderboards are the most competitive (players optimize a single day), while monthly boards reward consistency over time.
Progression: XP, Levels, and Streaks
Every drawing you submit earns XP. Higher scores earn more XP, and playing on consecutive days builds a streak multiplier that boosts your gains. As you accumulate XP, you level up — tracking your overall progress and dedication across all shapes.
Daily challenges feature a specific shape each day, encouraging variety and giving everyone a shared competitive target.

ShapeArena is completely free to play. There is no account creation, no email required, and no downloads. Just pick a nickname and start drawing. The game works on desktop (mouse) and mobile (touch), in any modern web browser.
